Silent Illumination

My first time volunteering in the kitchen during a retreat
Was eventful and fun
Save that I had difficulty staying on my feet
because of a very painful & acute condition

Without going into personal details
It would suffice to advise everyone
DRINK WATER!!!
not tea, not juice, not soup, not soda, not even a little slice of lemon
sorry, those beverages are not water to our bodies

Weekend retreat

I am a lucky lady
My sweet friend made this sandwich for me today
Homemade Hummus+freshly-grilled red pepper
+olive oil from Beataly (what she calls it & its Price$)

I'm super excited for the next few days
this weekend, I will be volunteering at a Silent Illuminations Retreat
after that, Thanksgiving!!!
(at our family gathering is usually
a round table covered with dishes & dishes of Chinese food
except a big turkey in the center)!
Will photograph and post, I promise!

In what seemed like an eternity, I finally began another quilt.
This was a terrific find,
a sweater with this chinese character
囍 (double happiness)
Now a double happy blanket with bergundy backing and sunshine stitching!
